Abstract:
This article provides counselors with a simplified representation of critical constructs in multicultural counseling:
adjustment to disability, stage of development, and cultural identity. Exploring these factors will facilitate the working alliance
and thereby serve to enhance the effectiveness of counseling interventions. The development and application of the Model is
highly individualized in a manner consistent with rehabilitation philosophy.
